W brings together both books from this compelling series in a new box set.

The Planner
Once a top-producing real estate agent with a successful business and a beautiful home, Kris Mitchell is a victim of the economic downturn. She has lost her home to foreclosure, and her long-time boyfriend has married someone else. Just when she has almost given up hope for a better future, an opportunity presents itself for her to become a Level 1 Planner for a newly created federal agency that will implement the Retire America Act.

After persuading her own aging parents to sign over all of their assets, Kris learns that the government’s plan to confiscate the wealth and property of America’s retirees in exchange for life-long care in the Smart Seniors community has some serious downsides. As she relinquishes more and more personal freedom to hold onto her job, she discovers what it means to trade liberty for a steady government paycheck.

The Chosen
In this compelling sequel to “The Planner”, Homeland Security is using the National Defense Authorization Act to incarcerate tens of thousands of Americans in secret government prisons where they are never heard from again. Michael Linton and Jeff Conners call attention to abuses of government power by setting up “The Wall”, a website which publishes the names of all those who have vanished. Soon federal agents dub “The Wall” the greatest act of terrorism in U.S. history and arrest Michael and Jeff as domestic terrorists.

Michael’s wife Kris and her brother Keith know that the time has now come for them to stand up for the Constitution and fight for the laws of their country.

This story will definitely get your heart rate up as your fear and anger hit maximum capacity. I wish I could tell you that this story is pure fiction but I can't. UN Agenda 21 is real and it's slowly slithering its way into America. Check out: http://americanpolicy.org/.

The Planner is just thrilled to finally find a job and, even though the conditions of the job seem excessively odd, she takes it anyway, pushing all negative thoughts from her mind. Her wake-up call comes when her parents move into the government community and she discovers that everything she believed about the government program was a lie.

The Planner was such a dynamic book that I had a difficult time getting anything done the day I began reading it. Even when I wasn't reading, I was thinking about the story, wondering where it would go next and what I would have done in the same situation. That night I finally shut down my Kindle at 2:30 am. The book was so exciting that I didn't want to stop. I guarantee everyone will enjoy this excellently researched and written story.

W The Planner The Chosen edition by Alexandra Swann Joyce Swann Religion Spirituality eBooks Reviews

What a great book. This book reminds the reader of what we as a nation have to loose if we give away our freedom and we allow God to be removed from this country. This book is a all to preserve the rights w have.
That I had to stop reading occasionally tho relax. This is a story of government run amuck and of a few good people risking their own lives tho prevent a totalitarian government from totally taking over. Ours been said before and it's still tue, all it takes for evil to prevail is for good people to do nothing.
I am not too political and often get lost in the typical political spin that seems to occur every time the political speak or what they speak is reported. I was convicted of being part of the ignorant masses who do nothing while evil spreads like a plague - like the frog in the water slowly getting boiled to death. This story brings out in story form the battle that is currently being waged for our freedoms. I have much repenting and changing to do and must pray I will find the grace, along with everyone who may also read this work, to choose life and find how I too can make a difference for the sake of this great nation.
I really enjoyed this book! I'd never read the author before, but the story is engaging, well-written, and the characters are interesting and believable. And guess what? The edition I read was virtually error-free. Nothing ruins a book for me faster than errors on every other page...and this book had none of those issues. This is a compelling story with well-developed characters...a Christian read, nicely done! I'll look forward to reading more from Alexandra Swann!
These books are scary in the way that they are possible. I would like to think there's no way, but I can't. I was so caught up in these books that I read them both without stopping except as necessary. They reminded me how doing nothing but minding your own business and taking care of yourself is not enough. We are responsible as Christians to love everyone and be available to do whatever God leads us to do, even if we are uncomfortable. I love the books, but be forewarned, you may start feeling guilty of not being available for God to use.
This review--and especially the rating--is for the box set of both books. If I reviewed the two books individually, the rating for the first book would be vastly different. I hate cliff hanger endings and generally give 1- or 2-star ratings to any book that requires me to buy another book, often with a wait for the next book to be released. W The Planner ends in a cliffhanger. However, the brilliant solution to this is to package the book with the sequel, so all I had to do to finish the story was to continue reading. Readers who like cliffhangers and want to wait a while to read the rest of the story can read the books separately. Kudos to the authors for avoiding the common problem caused by a cliffhanger ending.

The transition between the books could have been smoother. How the characters got from the situation at the end of the first book to where they were in the second book was unclear, but it didn't take away a lot from the story.

Although our country seems to be headed in the direction that ended with the situation in the book, it would have been more believable if it had been set further into the future. Obviously, in real life the government didn't do what happened in the book, but it's not far-fetched that if things don't change, it could in a decade or two. Since the book was published several years ago, the events in the story would have already occurred, making it more difficult to suspend disbelief.
Given the many five-star ratings, I was really excited to read this book. With dystopian, mystery-suspense and Christian listed as genres, I felt that it was an excellent selection to add to my library. Unfortunately, I was wrong...............

Last night, after reading yet another plodding speech/lecture, I decided that enough is enough and will remove "W The Planner, The Chosen" from all of my devices today.

This story has such great potential! I find the storyline to be very interesting, with good character development, excellent editing and NO foul language or sexual content - not common in today's reading fare.

However, the constant 'lecture mode' was a HUGE turn-off for me - and I found that I was forcing myself to open this book. If I want to be schooled in the political history of America, I will purchase a good, conservative history book. I read for relaxation - and this book is not a relaxing read.
