Kendall Ryan is wonderful to have appeased her readers by telling Ian and Mckenzie's story. I loved Hard to Love and all the rest of Kendall Ryan's books, but there is just something about a fighter. The connection between two characters is so important and Kendall goes out of her way to not only establish history with these Ian and Mckenzie, but to also make it different than a typical romantic plot line.Ian is a charmer and his inner dialogue is quite funny and entertaining (and it makes you want him all the more). He is a badass that loves a woman who he denies himself of. He cares about his sister and would do anything to help her. He is a wonderful character to read and I will be reading his story all over again...I might even do so tomorrow. He takes care of his friends and family, he is very responsible, and maybe just a little devilish...
Mckenzie is the usual young adult just trying to get by and survive in this work world. She is dedicated and a little lost, but she knows that Ian is something she wants. Mackenzie is a dedicated and strong character; she loves what she does and really loves MMA fights! She is confident, but she has a few insecurities like we all do. She really just wants her own little family of friends that she can call hers. She does live in a sketchy area, but that makes Ian more protective of her.
I loved this book and it isn't your typical boy meets girl. I highly recommend that you read this book!

MMA romance with some bad but mostly good...
The good Ian and MacKenzie had good chemistry, there were some pretty steamy moments, and you completely understand why they would want to be together. It kept my interest without wanting to skim. There was a good resolution to the story, no cliffhanger, which I absolutely hate. Ian was a great character - well rounded with a couple of flaws - real and believable. He gave me some yummy tingles.
The not so good (mild spoilers) This is one of those stories where the main couple can't get their stuff together (in almost every way) until the very end. So if you like a lot of 'I can't be with you' angst, this one will be good for you. The secondary characters are barely shown, and one of the ones focused on is a terrible character (flat without any understanding why he does what he does).
But even with the not so good, I would recommend to a friend if he/she were into MMA. It might even be worth a re-read after a while.
MacKenzie and Ian's, love, becomes Reckless, after hooking up at a party that their best friends were giving, Ian, MMA fighter was falling for MacKenzie, the heat gets turned up as Kenzie is on the dance floor. Ian's, watching her every move as some guy starts to dance with her and fondle her, Ian's, possessive side takes over. MacKenzie, wants things to happen with Ian, but when he shuts her down, because he has a fight coming up, Kenzie, fears of being unwanted and unlovable, resurfaces and spin both their lives out of control and trying to figure out how to fight their way back to each other.
Book review "Reckless Love" by Kendall Ryan. This is book #2 of the "Hard to Love" series but can be read as a standalone. Ian is an MMA fighter. Ladies, I could TASTE the testosterone dripping off this man! I could smell the blood and sweat. So what's wrong with him? He remains emotionally and sexually closed off while training for fights. That's why even though he and MacKenzie have off-the-charts sexual chemistry, he turned her down after a hot bump-and-grind at the dance club. But MacKenzie is used to people turning her down. She grew up in foster homes and has never felt worthy of anyone. After getting laid off at the hospital, she was hired on as a medic at the gym Ian trains at, so you can imagine the sexual tension radiating off these two! Since Ian all but refused her, she attempts to date gym owner, Chris. This little situation leads to a whole lotta miscommunication between Ian and MacKenzie, and admittedly that got old even though it led to some hot as sin situations. I felt those huge alpha-male-protective surges all throughout this book! 4.5 stars.
The story is told through the two main characters, MacKenzie, a trainer, nurse, and physical therapist who was raised in various foster homes and has trust issues with men. The other main character is Ian Le Claire, a MMA cage pro fighter, who lives comfortably as a trust fund baby. They work together at a gym owned by their mutual friend Chris. Ian is training g for a big fight in LosVegas, becomes and becomes injured and MacKenzie helps him rehabilitate. In do I g so they fall in love and in the end end up happily together.

What happens when the one you want is the one you can't have but you have to see her and she has to touch you everyday. How do you fight the good fight when all you want to do is be reckless?
Ian is training for the fight of his life but is fighting a bigger battle in his heart. He has known MacKenzie wants him, but also knows it would be a big mistake to have her. He has to focus on his fighting and getting into his best winning condition. No distractions.
MacKenzie has a job in Ian's gym. She has to attend to his medical needs when he is hurt. How long will she wait for him to see they belong together. He pushed her away one time too many, should she just move on? Problem is she knows they have an undeniable attraction.
When Mackenzie decides to date the gym's owner and Ian's connection to the big fight in Vegas, more than just sparks begin to fly. Will doing the right thing be the worst possible decision for MacKenzie? Can Ian win this fight knowing his focus is more on his heart than his head? Is not being with her more of a distraction?
Reckless Love is stand alone but also follows up on some characters in Hard to Love and we first meet Mackenzie and Ian there. Worth the read!
